Chapter 21 - The little ones...

Karitas Sól (Birna´s neice) was baptised today. It was a very nice little ceremony, although Karitas cried throughout most of it as she had an upset stomach – poor little thing.




Birna has another nephew, Hrannar, who is 2 years old and is sooooo cute! How´s this for a small world – Birna´s brother Freyr, his wife Hilde and their son Hrannar live on the Gold Coast (they immigrated from Iceland a year ago) and now they live in the next street to my sister Karen!

Birna loves little Hrannar so much and gets regular updates from her brother about how the little guy is doing... and the stories are so adorable! He attends a kindy and is a lot bigger than the other kids his age. When he says goodbye to them at the end of the day, he crouches down, pats them on the head and says “bye bye.” Hrannar is also friends with another little boy at the kindy, and this other kid often gets himself into mischief. The kindy teachers are constantly telling this boy to “stop it.” Well Hrannar actually thinks his friend´s name is “stop it” and calls him that and won´t believe his parents or the teachers when they say his name isn´t “stop it.” Hrannar has also learnt the word “sorry” but doesn´t quite know when to use it as the other day he ran into a wall and said to the wall, “sorry.”
